Acrylic
Acrylic paint is a paint based on synthetic resin (acrylic polymers) that can be diluted with water. It is characterized by its quick drying and great versatility.
Here are its main characteristics:
• Composition: It is made up of pigments, acrylic binders and water as a solvent. When it dries, the water evaporates and the binder polymerizes, forming a resistant layer.
• Quick drying: Acrylic dries much faster than other types of paint, such as oil, which allows layers to be superimposed quickly.
• Varied effects: Depending on the dilution with water or mediums, it can offer transparency effects similar to watercolor or, on the contrary, a thicker texture like that of oil paint.
• Resistance: Once dry, it becomes waterproof and resists bad weather well, making it ideal for outdoor works.
• Ease of use: Acrylic is appreciated for its ease of cleaning (brushes can be cleaned with water) and its ability to adhere to many supports (canvas, paper, wood, metal, etc.).
